M Financial Group proudly served as the presenting sponsor of the 2020 BBBS Columbia Northwest Gala, their annual fundraiser, which was held on February 8.
The gala’s theme was mentorship and service to the local community, and M CEO Wes Thompson shared how, as a Big Brother when he was in college, he discovered the life-changing opportunity that comes from being a mentor: the ability to influence and include.
“There’s a fine line between being in a rut and being in a groove,” he said. “We all have the ability to help a kid move from a rut to a groove, for the rest of their life.”
Hope Alabi, Director of Client Operations, Diversity & Inclusion at M, added, “Kids with mentors do better. It’s proven. We partner with BBBS because we believe that every kid, no matter their background, deserves an equal chance at achieving their full potential.”
