In this role, Jeff will oversee the various teams across our M Benefit Solutions and Retirement Services operations, including M’s offerings of executive-level benefits, BOLI/COLI, and retirement services, including qualified and nonqualified deferred compensation plans.
Leveraging his extensive background and expertise, Jeff will also provide thought leadership support to M Member Firms to help them increase customer growth through a strong customer-focused approach.
Jeff has over 27 years of experience in the nonqualified retirement industry and in the areas of risk management, accounting, financial analysis, M&A, client relationship management, auditing, operations management, and strategic planning. He joins M following his role as Vice President, Client Services, at Newport, a retirement services firm based in Florida.
At Newport, he led the company’s nonqualified retirement client service team consisting of directors and relationship managers who were responsible for service delivery to approximately 500 clients, including emerging private companies and Fortune 100 public organizations. Under his supervision, client retention performance was 98% or better and the company secured several large accounts with Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to Newport, Jeff spent seven years as Director, Client Service, at Principal Financial Group, where he was responsible for establishing and growing Principal’s Dallas office. While at Principal, he recruited key personnel to support operations and was responsible for staff in the U.S. and India who provided data management, client reporting, quality control, and financial transaction support for over 2,000 nonqualified plan clients. He managed the onboarding for new and takeover clients, and also for converting clients who sought to change providers or terminate their existing program.
Before Principal, Jeff spent 16 years at Clark Consulting with his last five years as the firm’s Vice President, Client Service Department. At Clark, he oversaw account teams within the client service department, determined goals, managed the departmental budget, and negotiated and executed service contracts for new and existing clients. He directed a department of over 70 employees.
Jeff has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Stephen F. Austin University in Texas. He holds Series 6 and Series 63 securities licenses as well as his general lines insurance license in the state of Texas. He also acquired his NQPA designation from the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).
