Carol A. Carlson joined M Financial’s Board of Directors as an external director in 2024. She is a retired partner with EY’s Financial Services Financial Accounting and Advisory Services (FAAS) practice. Within the FAAS Practice, she advised some of the largest life insurance companies in the world, including, MetLife, Prudential, and New York Life.

Carol’s expertise spans insurance and reinsurance companies inclusive of life, health, variable annuities and separate accounts, managed care, property and casualty, and workers compensation.

Throughout Carol’s career, she has worked with many leading organizations, including XL (Catlin), Global Atlantic (Forethought, Athene/Aviva), Meiji Yasuda (StanCorp), Old Mutual (F&G Life), Athene (Delta Lloyd), and TIAA-CREF (Nuveen) on their global transaction activity. She has significant experience in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions.

Carol received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa.
