As chief investment officer, Tod oversees Pacific Life's general account portfolios. He leads the investment teams and advises Pacific Life’s business divisions and subsidiaries on product design, investment opportunities, and hedging strategies. Tod joined Pacific Life in 1991. In 2004, he was named chief derivatives officer with responsibility for managing and coordinating the use of derivatives at Pacific Life. He was promoted to senior vice president, investment management in 2008, and then to chief investment officer in 2021. He chairs Pacific Life’s investment committee and serves as a member of the management committee, enterprise risk committee, and capital management committee.
Alex Silva
AVP & Pricing Officer
Alex has been at John Hancock for 13 years. In his current role, Alex is responsible for managing all Insurance product pricing initiatives from inception through launch, ensuring that products meet corporate pricing standards and stated goals for profitability and risk. Alex has overseen the pricing of nearly 100 product initiatives, including term, universal life, indexed UL, variable UL, and Vitality, John Hancock’s shared value insurance offering. Prior to this role, Alex spent time in asset modeling and pricing immediate annuities and long term care insurance. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in actuarial science from Bryant University and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
