M Financial Group is pleased to welcome Alvaro José Muñoz as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Alvaro is based in M Financial’s office in Dallas, Texas.
As CFO, Alvaro provides strategic and operational leadership across all financial functions at M Financial, including accounting, budgeting, treasury, tax, and investor relations. He helps shape and execute the company’s financial strategy, operating policies, and long-term plans to support business growth and corporate objectives.
Alvaro joined M with 24 years of experience across life and health insurance, bringing extensive enterprise finance leadership to complex insurance environments. Most of his career has been spent in multinational insurance organizations, holding significant senior finance leadership roles in the United States and the broader Latin America region.
Most recently, Alvaro served as Vice President of Financial Reporting and Controller at Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG), role in which he oversaw accounting and financial reporting for all regions of the company. His work included financial transformation efforts across both U.S. and international operations. Before PALIG, he held finance and leadership roles at American Life Insurance Company, now part of MetLife.
Alvaro holds a B.A. in economics from Swarthmore College and an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, with a focus on finance, accounting, and business law.
